For a safe and enjoyable spa pool session
please follow these instructions:
please follow these instructions:
Be aware that:
- The temperature of the spa may be over 40˚C. (Check and make sure that the temperature is comfortable for you.)
- Bathing time should not exceed 14 minutes at a time but may be repeated during a session. The warmer the water the less time you will require in the spa pool.
- The spa pool is operated with rest periods – you must leave the spa pool during this period.
- Some costumes may fade after immersion in the spa pool. You should not submerge below the water level in the spa as there are entrapment hazards.
- You should not take breakable cups, glasses or razors into the spa pool.
Who should not use the spa pool?
- Anyone who has a serious illness, or heart condition, high/low blood pressure, or any other medical condition that may affect your reaction to heat – please consult with your doctor first.
- Anyone taking medications for any of the above conditions or of which you are unsure as to the advisability of using spas – consult your doctor first.
- Anyone who has a contagious disease, infectious skin condition, open sores or wounds.
- Anyone who has had a heavy meal within one and a half hours.
- Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Anyone who is a diabetic with damaged feet or peripheral neuropathy that has experienced reduced sensation in their feet.
- Anyone under 16 years of age.
- If you have recently exercised (always allow time for your body temperature to return to its normal level).
Safe use of the spa and potential hazards:
- Avoid using the spa alone. If possible, bring a friend and always ensure a member of staff knows that you are in the spa.
- Undress and place your belongings in a secure place.
- Take a thorough shower to remove any perfume, contaminants or perspiration.
- Identify the correct entry point to the spa pool (when the water is turbulent it may not be possible to see any steps).
- Enter the spa with care. If possible, sit down on the side of the spa pool to enter safely.
- Enjoy the spa pool for ten to fourteen minutes until you feel uncomfortable or the session finishes.
- Leave the spa pool with care by moving slowly and taking care to place your feet securely on the floor (stand up too quickly and you may feel giddy or faint). If possible raise your body out of the spa and sit on the side of the pool before standing.
- Rest between ten and twenty minutes before returning to the spa pool.
- Repeat the process as many times as feels comfortable (too long an exposure may result in nausea, dizziness or fainting).
- Shower and rest on completion of the bathing cycle.
- Leave the spa immediately if you become nauseous, giddy or feel faint and inform a member of staff as soon as possible.
