FOREWORD
This guide forms part of a wider programme of history support for teachers and students provided by the County Boroughs’ Advisory Service ESIS. It aims to raise awareness of the new assessment regimes and of the standards expected at the new AS level, to be examined in 2001/2 . Furthermore, it is an attempt to help students in the transition from GCSE to AS level by providing them with a suggested “step by step guide” to answering the range of questions assessed in History Units 1,2,and 3.
