Natural Attractions

One of the features of North Wales is the wide range of accommodation available for tourists. Traditional destinations such as Llandudno and Betws-y-Coed have hotels of different grades as well as B&B and guesthouse accommodation.
There are also many static caravan sites along the coast, particularly at Prestatyn and a number of caravan and campsites throughout the countryside of Snowdonia.
The Promenade in Llandudno is a good example of the tourist accommodation available in the area. Nearly every building along the Promenade offers accommodation, with some, such as the Imperial Hotel offering 4 star accommodation. One of the advantages of North Wales as a destination is the range of accommodation available.

In recent years new indoor leisure facilities have been developed in the coastal towns. A good example is the Sun Centre in Rhyl, which boasts "rides and slides and pools and fun for every member of the family". The Nova Centre in Prestatyn also offers swimming and a range of other entertainment.
Another feature of tourism in North Wales is the increasing range of facilities being made available for outdoor activities and adventure tourism. The resorts along the coast are associated with traditional seaside tourism, but in recent years the trend has been for more people to enjoy the countryside and mountains, undertaking a range of activities.
"With some of the best mountain biking facilities in the world, Snowdonia Mountains and Coast is renowned for its mountain climbing and hill walking, year round white water rafting, canoeing and kayaking, sailing, surging and windsurfing. There is also a fantastic choice of golf courses."
Off road and mountain biking has become extremely popular in North Wales in recent years. Scenic, family friendly traffic free routes are located throughout the area. For example the popular Lon Eifion area, between Caernarfon and the village of Bryncir provides incredible views of the surrounding mountains.
