North Wales

Attitudes & Culture

As in many other destinations, in recent years increasing numbers of tourists are beginning to show greater respect towards the culture of North Wales.

The Welsh language is being more widely spoken and more tourists respect the traditions with which it is associated this is especially more noticeable in small rural communities where the local people only ever speak Welsh to one another.

Also, increasing numbers of tourists have a greater understanding of the special qualities of the environment of areas such as Snowdonia and more visitors are behaving in a responsible manner, they are becoming more responsible with regards to their rubbish and disposing of it appropriately. They are showing more respect to the countryside by taking nothing with them (plants) and leaving only footprints (no rubbish.)
