The value of participant feedback and evaluation

There is a lot of value within participation feedback and evaluation. They can contribute to the following:

  • future session development
  • pros and cons to session delivery and resources
  • what did/did not work well
  • if the objective(s) were attainable
  • participant recommendations for future sessions.

All feedback should be reviewed against the objective(s) of the training session to see if the learners have achieved the objective(s). The feedback provided should be evaluated to improve future sessions. For example, if the feedback states that the room was difficult to find then more signs and maps can be used; if a learner leaves feedback that a particular resource was not beneficial, then a different resource should be considered for future use.

Methods of feedback collection and evaluation:

  • feedback and evaluation form at the end of a session
  • verbal feedback and evaluation
  • use of a comment box
  • electronic feedback i.e. survey, email.

Support participants to reflect on own learning

Participants should be supported to reflect on their own learning. This can be achieved through: group discussion, reflection models, individual goals and asking participants what they have learned (this can form part of a feedback/evaluation form).

Training records

Training records should be maintained to act as register for fire safety and attendance, evidence of knowledge and competence.

  • datblygu sesiynau'r dyfodol
  • manteision ac anfanteision o ran cynnal sesiynau ac adnoddau
  • beth wnaeth/wnaeth ddim gweithio'n dda
  • oedd yr amcan(ion) yn gyraeddadwy
  • argymhellion gan gyfranogwyr ar gyfer sesiynau yn y dyfodol.

Dylid adolygu'r holl adborth yn erbyn amcan(ion) y sesiwn hyfforddiant i weld ydy'r dysgwyr wedi cyflawni'r amcan(ion). Dylid gwerthuso'r adborth a ddarperir i wella sesiynau'r dyfodol. Er enghraifft, os yw'r adborth yn nodi ei bod hi'n anodd dod o hyd i'r ystafell, gellir defnyddio mwy o arwyddion a mapiau; os yw dysgwr yn rhoi adborth i ddweud nad oedd adnodd penodol yn fuddiol, dylid ystyried defnyddio adnodd arall yn y dyfodol.

Dulliau casglu adborth a gwerthuso:

  • ffurflen adborth a gwerthuso ar ddiwedd sesiwn
  • adborth a gwerthuso ar lafar
  • defnyddio blwch sylwadau
  • adborth electronig h.y. arolwg, e-bost.

Helpu cyfranogwyr i fyfyrio ar eu dysgu eu hunain

Dylid helpu cyfranogwyr i fyfyrio ar eu dysgu eu hunain. Mae'n bosibl cyflawni hyn mewn: trafodaeth grŵp, modelau myfyrio, targedau unigol a gofyn i gyfranogwyr beth maen nhw wedi'i ddysgu (gall hyn ffurfio rhan o ffurflen adborth/gwerthuso).

Cofnodion hyfforddiant

Dylid cynnal cofnodion hyfforddiant i'w defnyddio fel cofrestr ar gyfer diogelwch tân a phresenoldeb, tystiolaeth o wybodaeth a chymhwysedd.
