Some equipment can be accessed through the NHS (with General Practitioner or doctor referral), loaned by voluntary organisations or purchased privately e.g. Living made Easy (https://www.livingmadeeasy.org.uk/)
Grants
Independence at Home (http://www.independenceathome.org.uk/) give grants to disabled individuals and those with a long-term illness.

Active participation is a way of working that regards individuals as active partners in their own care or support rather than passive recipients. Active participation recognises each individual’s right to participate in the activities and relationships of everyday life as independently as possible.
Technological aids support independence and participation for individuals and empower them to actively participate in daily life. This supports their self-esteem, confidence and well-being.
Within the home, assistive technology supports independence and enables independent living. The right device or combination of devices can help an individual be in control of their own personal care and give them dignity.
Technological aids enable individuals to participate in social activities and interact with others (including online). This helps reduce isolation.
Through assistive technologies individuals are able to participate fully in work and education and with adaptations use equipment such as computers, telephones required.
