  1. What is the difference between humility and humiliation?
  2. What does the following verse from St Paul mean: ‘he humbled himself and became obedient to death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him’ (Philippians 2:8).
  3. One translation of ‘humbled himself’ is ‘emptied himself’. Emptied himself of what?

Working in pairs, construct a paragraph which links at least five of the following words together:
Resurrection; Death; End; Beginning; Defeat; Victory; Despair; Hope; Humility; Majesty; Temporal; Eternal; Humiliation; Glory; Darkness; Light; Individual; Community; Finite; Infinite.

Example: resurrection represents the defeat of death by Jesus Christ, whose victory banishes the darkness of despair and brings us light and hope. (7 words)

Write a sentence explaining the idea.

Example: death to an atheist represents the end – nothingness, annihilation.
