Experiment Method

  1. Measure out 10g of biological washing powder.
  2. Place washing powder into a beaker with 100 ml of water and stir until dissolved.
  3. Heat the water to 20°C
  4. Stain a piece of material with egg yolk and check, using the grid, that all 25 squares are fully stained with yolk.
  5. Leave the material to dry for 30 minutes.
  6. Put the material in the water and time for 10 minutes.
  7. Keep the beaker in a water bath to maintain the temperature.
  8. Remove the material and use the grid to determine the % of material which has been cleaned.
  9. Repeat stages 1-7 twice more.
  10. Repeat the experiment using 30, 40, 50 and 60 °C
