Use the fact sheet supplied to identify the main features of each of the cell types you will study.
Learners are placed into groups and each group can be given a different fact sheet.
Learners are provided with a number of different coloured felt pens and flipchart paper or A3 paper.
Learners are instructed as a group, to create a resource which will be used to teach another group about the type of cell they are studying. However, words are restricted to ten or twenty to prevent copying out of the fact sheet. Learners will need to assimilate and translate the worksheet into something different in, order to complete the task.
When the resource is complete, one member of the group remains with the resource and becomes the teacher, the other members of the group are sent to other groups to learn about other cells.
Finally, the groups get back together to share the information they have collected and to fill in the big picture worksheet.
The digital resource combines the knowledge acquired during the cells lesson with microscopy, as real life light micrographs are used in the resource.
